Lola grew up in East-Berlin, raised by her German- Jewish grandmother Hannah, who survived the Holocaust. Lola is furious: furious with the new anti- Semitism around her; with her father who has been hiding in the Australian jungle for the past ten years; furious with the fact that she doesn’t know where she belongs anymore. When Lola falls in love with Shlomo she follows him to Tel Aviv, where her grandfather lives, hoping to find some answers.
Winternähe takes us on an emotional journey, sometimes tragic, sometimes funny, following Lola on her quest for identity and her place in the world.
